The Opening Game Pass Games of 2026 Show Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.

Everywhere you go, fans keep sounding the funeral bells for the green team. Xbox was recently outsold by a relatively obscure console. Platform-specific outlets have started writing about PlayStation as a new development. 2025 was complete chaos for the Xbox ecosystem. Yet, based exclusively on what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it's evident that Xbox remains determined to draw people in with quality releases on its flagship service.

The Current Inclusions

The two games that are immediately available at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass soon that's truly noteworthy.

Upcoming Headline Games

Come mid-January, the platform will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that breaks up typical Ubisoft design with an intergalactic heist adventure. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, previously described as "the perfect cocktail of frights and fights."

Compelling Indie Titles

But even the smaller games arriving shortly on the service deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, an unjustly ignored roguelite that's a blast to play, arrives January 7th — and it merits a playthrough regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.

The game set in a ruined Britain from last year might get its hooks in you in about 15 minutes flat.

Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by the developers behind Sniper Elite, is also a game to check out. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.

A Solid, Curated Lineup

All in all, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, and they are also not tentpole Microsoft studios games that justify the service by themselves. Yet, this selection are exceptionally strong. There's a good mixture of older titles you may have skipped and fairly new titles that didn't get the attention they warranted upon launch — transforming them into ideal prospects to get a second chance on Game Pass.

Be prepared to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
